It’s throwback Friday!!! Let me share with you the earliest engagement session that I have done.
Love comes in the most unexpected way and in the most unexpected time. Falling in love can be the most surprising and fulfilling experiences of your life. Such as the story of this couple! I couldn’t be happier to capture their beautiful love story.
It was a beautiful sunny day and we started taking photos at the park near their place as it was one of their favorite place to visit. It was also a perfect opportunity to test out my new Sony mirrorless camera. As they are not used to being the center of attention of our cameras, I have directed them to just pretend that we weren’t there and just think that they are in one of their dates. And from there everything went without a hitch. They started feeling not so conscious of being infront of the camera and started to enjoy it!
Afterwards, we went to our 2nd location the Whittamore Farm in Pickering, the groom-to-be loves the farm atmosphere and what a better way to take pictures there. The bride-to-be also changed into her 2nd set of outfit and we started the 2nd half our shoot.
Thinking back of this engagement session, there was many things that I have learned. I have learned to express my confidence so that my clients can place their trust in me to capture and document their special moments. I also learned to not be afraid to instruct and direct my clients. I am a little shy in speaking out which I think I still am a little bit, but let me say that through this experience, I learned that overcoming some of the inner fears that we feel as a new photographer we gain better experience to not only be a better photographer but most of all, become better directors.
